Roebuck Employee Participant in Leadership SC Program
Spartanburg, SC
David Harrelson holds a position in Business Development for Roebuck Buildings and was recently nominated and accepted into the 2014 Leadership SC program which is the state’s oldest and most recognized leadership development program in the Palmetto State.  Leadership South Carolina (www.LeadershipSC.org ) was created 30 years ago by then-Governor Dick Riley at the request of business leaders and the State Chamber of Commerce. It has been in serving the state continuously since and has more than 1,300 alumni all across the state and Southeast.

Since 1979, Leadership SC has been developing leaders in communities all across the state with the goal of challenging and enlightening participants on the issues and assets of our state.  As a result of being better informed, Leadership South Carolina graduates are better equipped to make decisions for their organizations as well as move the state in a positive direction.  Many graduates are found in elected offices across the state, including the state Legislature, county councils and local governments.

Leadership South Carolina’s core program begins in September and ends in April, accepting no more than 50 participants.  Participants are competitively selected through a matrix designed to bring the most diversity in terms of ethnicity, geographic location, employment and community works. The core program is conducted through six three-day sessions in various parts of the state.
