history intro

Our History

In 1947, shortly after the close of WWII, pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) made their way to the South from the military complex in the North. John C. Anderson and partners knew this value-driven building product was cost effective, flame-resistant, and offered customers maximum design flexibility. Recognizing PEMB would be rapidly embraced nationwide, they opened for business and served the thriving local textile economy for over three decades by offering these innovative metal structures to eager customers throughout North and South Carolina.

1980s

As the textile industry slowed in the late 1980s, John empowered his son, Dean Anderson, and brother-in-law, Bill Sarratt, to grow the business by expanding beyond the traditional pre-engineered metal buildings through which Roebuck had earned its reputation. In response, the company acquired another business that allowed them to add both more employees and new services, and Roebuck began building projects with greater complexity, growing within the ever-expanding manufacturing space across the Southeast region.

2000s

In addition to making its mark on the industrial construction landscape of the four most recent decades erecting steel and pre-cast concrete structures, Roebuck also became known for constructing a variety of quality commercial buildings, churches, fire stations and healthcare facilities. As existing buildings in the area began to show age, require additional space, or warrant improvements for new tenants, Roebuck developed an extensive resume of up-fit, renovation and expansion projects that created yet another avenue for company growth.

current

At present, Roebuck Buildings embodies a shared approach to ownership. In order to position the company for a bright future, Dean Anderson, the active CEO and Chairman, looked within the company to create a strong group of leaders. Ken Anderson, President; Jason Fisher, Senior Vice President of Operations; and Ryan Mabus, Senior Vice President of Project Development, share ownership with Dean. The company is further rounded out with seasoned project management, construction superintendents, estimators, and a team that consistently delivers customer value and exceeds expectations.
